What is cyanotype?
This is a silver-free photographic process, invented in 1842 by John Herschel, that produces monochrome prints in a rich blue color.
You mix two safe solutions, apply them to paper, and let it dry. Then place objects or photographic negatives on top and expose them to sunlight. The sun turns the exposed areas blue, while the covered areas remain light. After rinsing with water and drying, a beautiful blue image is obtained.
Each print is handcrafted and unique.
